This story took me to a place of fear and pain. But isn’t that what authors do? You provide a therapy of sorts. Taking us to a dark place and saying, “Look”. When I looked I saw my older sister with glazed eyes. Telling me that voices were instructing her to kill her children. “I could kill you too”, she said.
I cant breathe from the sadness I feel for the pain he must have felt.
Blessed to have a friend that loved him.
I was so moved by this story that was so richly written.
Thank you

Oh my God. This. Gut punching and searing. Beautiful.
Thank you!
Everyone has a different pain tolerance. So, so true. And it always seems to be the emotional, not the physical pain that does it.
Thank you, Steve. Our emotional capacity, right?
Beautiful
Thank you so much, Wayne.
Thank you. My younger brother performed the same preemptive coup. The wound never heals.
Damn, that was good!
Thanks, Freddy. The guitars!
