Ah, depression - that black dog, that dark cloud hanging over heads that blocks light and clear thinking. How often I'm there. Injuries and illness just invites this heavy blanket into many lives. I hope it soon lifts for you while you recover. And thank you for your amazing writing!!
As intended, I think….the beginning lines were alluring. Until the next line. Then the next line, and the next. It is lonely, isn’t it? That giant global community of ‘friends’.
The poem may not be political, but it certainly is prescient.
Thank you for your beautiful poems. They brighten my day, because all beautiful things, no matter if they are sad or joyful, give me hope in our collective humanity.

You nailed it!
You put into words the exact reasons I have never been on facebook and never will. Thank you Sherman
The line breaks are flawless in this piece 👏

Yes, the lovely lure and then the hook piercing the soul…
Suck: robber baron in a hoodie.
Correction: Zuck! Such a funny auto correct to “suck.”
Old King Zuck was a merry old soul
And a merry old soul was he.
Dammit!, Now I have to deactivate again!

Thank you.
The alter of loneliness. 💘
I have a great agent, a poet herself. She suggested that I add “here” to begin that last line. It certainly helps the rhythm and it adds an immediacy.
