This is such a "nets it out" statement. "Anything greater than zero". My math teacher father would have loved this.
meanwhile - you were greatly missed in Bellingham last night. I was prepared to quote several of your poems just so you'd recognize a "substacker" in the audience!
Usually your 'zingers' are at the end of the poem. But I was captivated by the middle in this one, I think "wrongnesses" sounds like a coined word; Probably not, but I really like it! Thanks!
Everything in history is debatable. The simplicity of our words resonate even greater than zero. I often wonder about the lessons of our grievances. Would we be able to reverse the wrongs of unjust wars wielded for religion, ideology, or the complexion of a person's skin? Thanks Sherman for enlightening us once again.
Wow. Truly amazing flow, thank you for sharing
Thank you.
yeah the past is always more vital than some ethereal future good one...also the cold cup of coffee forgotten rings true here a blessing discovery ha
Another gem. Thank you for sharing this. I really admire how this went from a general thought about wars to small personal celebrations.
The phrase
"People go
to war to prove
their wrongness
is the most blessed
of the wrongnesses."
is a brilliant piece of writing. I'm in awe.
Thank you, Arjan.

........peole go to war
to prove their wrongnesses
are the most blessed
of all wrongnesses
I never looked it up to see if it was a real word. I don't think it is. But I loved the sound of it.
I love the use of "end of shift" here.
Thank you.
Love the ending ... I have always wondered, If life was a balance sheet, would we be happy to end up m, overall, with a flatline?
That was great! Your readings are fantastic and definitely improve the experience.
If I were inclined, would you mind if I put it to music?
Another insightful poem that goes from the broad to personal and ties the two together in couplets.
Thank you, Mary.

I can relate to the celebration when the credit balance is greater than zero.
Thanks
Actually, I found a pair in my driveway last night.
.... People go
to war to prove
their wrongness
is the most blessed
of the wrongnesses.
Instances where I have been wrong. Debits, credits. Anything greater than zero.
No credit too small to make a difference. Thank you for this poem.
Thank you.
Well said.
Thank you.
I love the humility you express in this poem.
Thank you, Carol.
I like that one a lot, especially the end.
Thank you, Joe.
Who’s Joe? 🤣
Hahaha! Well, I have two good friends named Jen and two named Joe so the spell correct did something! Ha!
😄
