As I read between the lines, it strikes me that we all have our own sins and regrets and the fact you can allude to them with laughter at the end is very, very human. Thumbs up on your Performance Review.
Wonderful poem! It's rhythm feels the same as that old truck bumping along in Six Feet Under. I'm going for 110, but we'll see. I already have a couple of small prairie towns on my face, along with those long laugh lines--like Paul McCartney. Heading for LA or maybe Seattle.
A beautiful poem about death, that is actually about life! (Which is also what I loved about six feet under, a show about death that reminds us about the preciousness of life). Loved the laughter. Thank you!
One of my friends died suddenly years ago. Even as shock, sorrow and anger cloaked us, we still managed to laugh when talking Murph, especially his observations about life. SIX FEET UNDER remains one of my favorite shows. Best last episode ever in television.

That's a welcome poem, a blithe poem, a serious and worth-while poem. Thank you Sherman Alexie and have a happy new year.
Why not gather our circles and have pre-posthumous laughter? We will have had blessed moments to give us strength for what ever follows.
That's the subject of a different poem.
I believe in an hereafter filled love, joy, peace
Wonderful poem ...
By well said!
Oh, something in my eye. Or damn allergies.
Thanks! And good luck with that weepy eye! Ha!
What a relief to find your poems again.
Thanks, Barbara.

What a poem. What a performance review.
I love the urgency I felt when reading it. Not just to live life, but also to read on, invited by the pressing rhythm of the words. Amazing write.
Thank you, Arjan.
Very nice.
Perhaps a future friend.
