Ah...do love a BLT! And, my love loves them, too! This made me smile the whole while, reading and listening, and then....that connection to a marriage feast....Yes! Wonderful and delicious! Thank you for this!!!

The king of sandwiches. The best one ever invented. I can't praise the glorious BLT enough. It's right up there with the only salad one should ever eat, the Caprese. With tomatoes from outside the kitchen of course.

"This is what tomatoes can be—

a reminder of those beautiful hours

when marriage becomes a feast."

Perfection.

Sorry, I prefer it without bacon. Anyway, tomato and lettuce and bread are a perfect combination. The Italian way is tramezzino—soft bread without crust.

This is the season for fresh tomatoes, but in the winter there is nothing worse than a mealy, pallid tomato in my BLT. I switch to sun-dried tomatoes until the time is ripe!

Well, of course I liked the poem--and that is despite my deep, lifelong aversion to mayo! So yeah, I tend toward a dry BLT, which I do like, especially now that the tomatoes are worthwhile.

The tomato deserves it all! Down to the last few left on the vines, I am hoping several days of sun can do the trick!

Wonderful! I grew up loving BLT but I was always embarrassed to order them in a restaurant because they weren’t the kind of food one orders in a restaurant. Or so I thought. Not that I went to many restaurants but when I visited my grandmother my sister and I would go with her to a department store in Atlanta that had a nice restaurant ( don’t remember the name). They made great BLT but it took many years before I overcame my fear of ordering them.
