I love the contrast of the three photos. How free and happy she looks in her regalia as a young woman. Her guarded gaze in the second photo. Her confidence as an elder.
Thank you for sharing. jJul 1 is my Father-in-law’s yahrzeit as well. Lighting the yahrzeit candle, having it burn for 24 hours is one of my favorite rituals adopted through marriage. But now I think I should write a poem.
So Lovely and wonderful feeling of being close to ancestors through the natural world - my dad loved hummingbirds and the morning he died we had one going from window to window and I smiled and said hello dad - thank you Sherman
Thanks Sherman. Makes me think of own my dear mother, realizing her life deserves a poem (never have written one, but...) or a book, some kind of celebration of her secret world no one ever knew.

Sweet welcoming
Paying tribute to your mom iswonderful. My mother died when I was 5 so I don't remember her well but I miss her.
She clearly has force.

Thank you - so beautiful!
❤️
Beautifully said and felt!
Great warmth with a few tears, thank you
I'm sure she does/will - what a beautiful woman and grateful you can treasure her beyond her struggles.
Lovely, lovely. And of course she was your mom! Nea’ese!
Such a wonderful poem. Just love the photos but the image and thought of the dragon fly with the message is so touching.
What a beautiful image. Thank you for sharing this, at that decade “benchmark.”
Thanks, Cole
