Gorgeous! The way the request to fold together, one thrumming wing speaks to never letting go and then to the steeple and then to two hands, his and hers.
I loved reading your poems during my insomnia night. I was impressed with the Humanism poem - clever use of title and the steeple word; totally awesome!! And my basement is definitely the Museum of Never Letting Go (just had a discussion today with spousal unit about "shovelling out" the basement before the holidays. ;-). As for Hunger Psalm, that poem brought back some long ago memories; wow! Eggs were a luxury.
Good morning, Sherman. Reading your five short poems. Inspiring. Nourishing. Reassuring. I have been exploring improv flute music with haiku written by others. Especially Ryokan and Basho. I am curious what music your poems would call forth. Best, David 🏮
Sherman, I am profoundly moved by your choice of words... the imagery that suddenly, surprisingly blew my mind... the feelings I experienced when you invited me into your world for that brief moment. It made me want to linger longer.
Love all of these! I look so forward to see what you share next.

Thank you, Jonathan.
Such power in so few words. That’s what I love about your poetry. I wrote out “Lifetime Membership,” “High School,” and “Hunger Psalm.”
Thank you, John.
I have so many things in the Museum of Never Letting Go.
Yes, as do I.
Your words spark such lovely images in my mind.
Thank you.
