I too, love hearing your voice again. This subscription is a Christmas gift from my daughter (she knows that I hold Sherman Alexie in very high regard).
A side note that is hopefully good for a laugh: I just filled out my Bio and it was rejected for being too long!, it like a governor of self-centeredness...
Lovely when that rhyme at the end hits so hard and the smile that it evokes. Spot on. Listening to you read your work out loud is always such a shock because your interpretation of your own words is very different from how I read them in my head. It's a lovely surprise, every time. I had the privilege of hearing you read at Bowling Green State University back in 2000. I still celebrate this signed book on my shelf. Happy Holidays, Mr. Alexie. Thank you for you art.
Wow, you’ve been a fan for long while! Thank you! And thanks for the kind words about the readings. I think a performance of this poem would get significantly “bigger” in front of a crowd. I’d probably do some kind of physical humor. Thanks again! Happy Holidays!
love the levity...jealous indians!

so good to hear your voice. You have the sound of promise of truth.
Or it could be a Chupacabra with a carol like that.
Hahahahaha
