Substack has opened a social media feature called Notes, a Twitter-like experience. I quit Twitter in 2016 because its negatives far outweighed its positives. So I’m just experimenting with Notes now. I’ll stay with it as long as it feels like a positive place for me. So I’m going to focus on being positive, with my own thoughts and photos and by linking to songs, stories, poems from around the web and from other Substacks.
I’ve published a few notes so far on Substack Notes. I invite you to join me there.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Sherman Alexie, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Sherman Alexie can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond. I hope we can all leave behind the worst parts of social media.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
I tried it also. Seems cool. A small part of me is getting slight alarm bells a la Substack starting to possibly morph into something a little too akin to Twitter? Maybe I'm wrong. I hope.

I joined on Notes as well. Hoping it is better place than Twitter!
