The bedroom window
is open and cold wind
turns the curtains into
tides. I toss aside
the blankets to defy
the furnace. Sometimes,
in April, it's good
to shiver on purpose.
While I appreciate modern conveniences like heating and cooling, they do separate us from what's actually happening in nature. You make that point so much more elegantly.
